Frequently asked questions

Objective answers about how Le'an Aliyah works.

What is Le'an Aliyah?

Le'an Aliyah (Le'an Aliyah) is a web app for comparing Israeli communities during Aliyah planning. It lets you build a board of communities, score them across custom factors, and share the board with family.

How much does it cost?

A free account lets you add one community to your board. Full access — unlimited communities, sharing, and PDF export — is a one-time payment of $9.99 USD. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

What payment methods are accepted?

Payments are processed by Paddle, which accepts major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal depending on your region. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record and handles applicable taxes.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes — 14 days from the date of purchase. See the Refund Policy for details.

How many communities can I add?

Free accounts can add 1 community. After the one-time $9.99 purchase, you can add unlimited communities.

Where does the data come from?

Population and demographic data come from the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). School data comes from the Israeli Ministry of Education. Anglo-presence signals come from Nefesh B'Nefesh and Google Places. Commute times come from Google Maps. See the Methodology page for the full list.

How is the overall score calculated?

The overall score is a weighted average of your factor scores. Factors are ranked by the order you place them in — the top factor carries the most weight. See the Methodology page for the exact formula.

Can I share my board with family?

Yes. Paid users can generate a share link that gives family members read-only access to the board. Recipients do not need a paid account to view it; they need to upgrade only if they want to edit their own board.

Can I export my board?

Yes — the Comparison view has an Export button that generates a printable PDF with scores, factor weights, and community data.

Do I need Hebrew to use the app?

No. The app interface is in English. Data pulled from Israeli sources (school names, community names) may appear in Hebrew where that is the original source.

How do I reset my password?

Go to /auth/forgot-password and enter your email. You will receive a link to set a new password.

How do I manage my account or view receipts?

Open the /account page while signed in. You can see your plan status, view Paddle receipts, and use "Restore purchase" if a past payment is not reflected.

What happens to my data if I don't upgrade?

Your free-tier board (1 community) remains available on your account indefinitely. You can upgrade any time to add more communities.

Is Le'an Aliyah affiliated with any organizations or government entities?

No. Le'an Aliyah is not affiliated with any organizations or government entities.
